Uneeka's Top 5 Interior Trends for 2024

Uneeka's Top 5 Interior Trends for 2024

At uneeka home, we’ve curated a list of our top 5 interior design trend predictions for this year as well as selecting the best pieces from our collection to help you achieve the look! Whether its vivid brights, muted neutrals or a minimalistic vibe, our design team are always on hand to help you get one step closer to your dream living space.

1. 'Wabi Sabi' - Less is More

Derived from the Japanese word ‘wabi’, meaning ‘less is more’ wabi-sabi
is the Japanese art of living “a perfectly imperfect life” by embracing simplicity, nature and raw organic forms. In design terms, Wabi Sabi is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete, with natural changes embraced as a positive.
This design style can be achieved through asymmetrical placements, neutral earthy tones, uneven textures, and a heavy suggestion towards natural processes being at work; it celebrates what may be seen by some as imperfections and in turn creates a calm, zen living space. Below are some key products we believe to truly embrace the wabi-sabi style.

2. Sustainable & Reclaimed Materials

We are proud to say that we source all our products from ethical suppliers worldwide, whilst simultaneously supporting several charities and organisations along the way, including Child Rescue Nepal, Goodweave and Arthouse; you can read more about this here!

Ranging from hand printed textiles, to reclaimed wooden features and recycled sari bunting, we have a stunning range of products to help add that little bit of rustic charm to your space, making a big statement with little impact on the world around us.

3. Experimental Colours & Textures

You know when something clashes so much that it actually… goes? Our showroom is the perfect representation of this, we have so many differing styles in one place but it just seems to work! Want to recreate this in your own home? A bold base is always a good place to start; a feature wall with some cool graphics and prints. You can't go wrong with a bright sofa, and our custom sofa service would do just nicely, with a range of different colours and textures to choose from your dream sofa is literally a click away! Now layer up with some groovy textiles, cushions, rugs, throws, and you're good to go! Don't be afraid to go crazy with patterns and textures, that's what makes this style so interesting!

4. 'Cottage Core'

It seems right now that everyone wants to wave goodbye to stark, 'clean' interiors and move towards more traditional and eclectic styles. Vintage style lamps mixed with floral prints, endless soft furnishings and rustic wooden dressers encapsulate a quintessential cottage in the English countryside. Escape the hustle and bustle of the day to day and create your own cosy microcosm with us.

5. Mixing Design Styles

Mixing pieces from different design periods has always been a popular way to achieve a uniquely curated look – take boho for example, this is a mix of both exotic and vintage pieces, combined with both earthy tones and vivids to create a warm, effortlessly put together look. Retro design is a vibrant combination of 50s, 60s and 70s styles, creating a super cool, mid-century look by pairing teak wooden furniture with unique retro-futuristic accessories and funky geometrics to encapsulate a dreamy 70's style apartment.

happy styling!
