5 Ways To Practice Wellness With Uneeka
At Uneeka, we recognise how important it is to look after yourself and just to take some time out from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Wellbeing is a huge part of who we are as a brand, so we have curated a list of 5 ways that you can easily introduce and practice wellness in your day to day life. Have a read of our 5 top tips to practice wellness at home!
1. Create Your Own Oasis
Home: the one place you can truly call yours. Your safe space and sanctuary, a little slice of heaven. Why not make this space as cosy and relaxing as possible? Some soft comfy blankets and cushions you can curl up under with a good book and a cup of something delicious is always a good place to start, such as this Indian Floral Block Print Quilt or maybe this Pistachio Green Velvet Quilt is more your vibe? We also find introducing elements of nature into the home has a particularly calming and stress relieving effect on the body. Whether that be a fresh bunch of flowers or a simple peace lily, bringing the outside in can benefit us greatly in relaxing the mind and therefore the body and soul too. We have been using The Healing Power of Plants book for mega inspiration over in our home store!
2. Nourish Your Body
It is a common misconception that wellbeing includes only the health of the mind, however that couldn't be further from the truth; looking after your body is equally as important. A balanced diet that includes seasonal and colourful foods, aids to your overall health and wellbeing. Look for a variety of vitamin rich fruits and vegetables and wholegrains, which are naturally rich in fibre, minerals and vitamins which your body will love.
Top tip: Drinking lemon water in the morning can improve your mood, digestion, and energy level. Keep a full glass on your bedside table.
If you are visiting Cornwall, our Cafe Uneeka based on Boscawen Street in Truro offers a wholesome variety of delicious and nutrient rich foods. From nourishing salad bowls to mood boosting matcha (and of course some homemade sweet treats too), you are sure to leave feeling wholesome and happy.

3. Self Care
What better way to unwind after a busy day than treating yourself to a self care evening? A face mask on the sofa with your favourite show and something sweet is our go to, and don't forget a warming cup of herbal tea too! We have been loving this dreamy Purifying Clay Mask and Botanical Facial Steam combo, perfect for detoxing and letting all the stresses of the day fade away. Pair this with a few drops of this Sweet Dreams Pulse Point Oil for a restful and restorative night sleep to wake up feeling totally rejuvenated and ready for the day ahead.
4. Introduce Mindfulness Practices
If you want to feel more in touch with your surroundings then the practice of mindfulness can be a great way to do so. Put simply, mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present; it is an innate human quality but you just have to learn how to access it. Connecting to nature is a great way to do so. We absolutely love this Mindfulness In Wild Swimming book; it is the ultimate guide and introduction to any body wanting to introduce a more conscious way of living into their day to day and highlights why our relationship with open water is so fundamental to pure wellbeing. If you aren't quite feeling like taking the plunge (literally!) we have been enjoying journaling as a way to get down those thoughts and help clear the mind. We have a fabulous range of notepads and gratitude journals to help be mindful in style!
5. Move Your Body
Moving your body does not have to be high impact or strenuous and it is in fact quite the opposite when it comes to yoga. This ancient practice, originating from India, has helped thousands over the years and is practiced in different forms, around the globe. Not only does it provide flexibility, strength and balance in body and mind, but it's also a great place to meet new people and focus on… you! Did you know we have our very own studio in Truro? Immerse yourself into a world of ultimate relaxation and mindfulness with Yoga & Pilates Truro. Kaan and Shuni offer a range of classes for all abilities, ranging from Yin Yoga, to Slow Flow and Pilates. As part of our company wellbeing mission, Kaan and Shuni offer our staff a weekly complimentary session of their choice (see lovely Jessie post slow flow!). In their boutique studio, sessions are inclusive and progressive, allowing space for anyone to join and for everyone to better their practice in a safe and supportive environment.
