International Women's Day 2026

Celebrate International Women’s Day at Uneeka on March 8th, as we embrace the #GiveToGain theme, champion women-led businesses, support independent makers in Cornwall, and highlight conscious, community-driven retail in Truro and Falmouth and beyond.

Celebrating Community, Creativity & Conscious Living

International Women’s Day invites us to imagine a future shaped by fairness, opportunity and inclusion — and this year’s theme, #GiveToGain, encourages us to consider how generosity and collaboration help make that future possible. These values resonate deeply at Uneeka, where independent retail in Cornwall is built on creativity, connection and conscious choice.

The International Women’s Day 2026 message reminds us:

“Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge gender equality.”

Every conscious purchase, every decision to support independent shops, and every commitment to ethical living contributes — quietly but meaningfully — to that vision. At Uneeka, International Women’s Day is not simply a date in the calendar; it reflects the principles shaping our community throughout the year.

Championing independent makers

Supporting independent makers is a natural extension of our belief that retail should connect people, stories and communities.

We are continually inspired by the individuals behind the brands we stock — many founded or led by women, and many operating with sustainability and ethical production at their core.

Founded in West Cornwall by aromatherapist Marie, Bloom Remedies grew from a kitchen-table venture into a respected botanical wellbeing brand, still proudly based near Marazion. Rooted in essential oil expertise and botanical knowledge, their considered approach to natural skincare and wellbeing reflects Cornwall’s restorative landscape.

Loveday Distilling, based in Penryn, was created by best friends Chloe and Daisy. Their small-batch spirits are distilled with creativity, care and armfuls of fresh botanicals, fabulous packaging, award winning gin and rum, enough said!  A modern expression of female-led craft distilling in Cornwall.

Old Farmhouse Jewellery began in Victoria’s home in 2012, overlooking the Cornish countryside. Now a small team based in Penzance, they create hand-textured sterling silver pieces designed to be both beautiful and effortlessly wearable.

And beyond Cornwall, we champion makers such as Adele at Felt So Good. Combining design expertise with a commitment to ethical production, Felt So Good works with an ethical cottage industry in Nepal, now employing over 250 artisans. The result is joyful, handcrafted pieces that support sustainable employment and meaningful skills development.

#GiveToGain also lives in the partnerships we nurture.
