Turkish Adinkra Patterned Hammam Towel

£29.99 Regular price £39.00

Peshtemals (also known as hammam towels) are traditionally used as towels in Turkish baths and are ideal for travelling but can also be used as beach towels, shawls and throws.

The 'Adinkra' peshtemal features Mmere Dane, the Adinkra symbol of change that represents the dynamic nature of life. Adinkra symbols originate in West Africa and have been used in African visual arts since the 12th century. The Chintemani circles decorating the motif represent power, force and courage in Turkish decorative arts. It has its roots in Asia, where it symbolizes the three virtues of Buddha. These 100% cotton peshtemals are highly absorbent, light and dry very quickly.
